The Grapevine’s Hometown Heroes Scholarship

The Grapevine Newspaper created the Hometown Heroes project in February of 2009 to celebrate Vineland’s everyday heroes who embody and demonstrate the values of courage, compassion, character, humanity, personal initiative, and responsibility. Each year The Grapevine honors two dozen citizens from the Cumberland County area who make the community a better place to live and work through their charitable and/or civic volunteerism. All proceeds from the annual Hometown Heroes Gala are donated to charitable organizations, including The Vineland Rotary Club’s Scholarship Fund.

This scholarship will be presented to a student(s) who meet(s) the following criteria:

~Primary consideration will be given to students who demonstrate the same values as our Hometown Heroes through charitable and/or civic volunteerism.
~Graduating seniors from high schools in Cumberland County who plan to continue his/her education at a recognized school, college or university.
~Students who excel academically while participating in numerous extracurricular activities.
~Special consideration will be taken for those demonstrating financial need.
