2012 Vineland Rotary Scholarships

Scholarship Criteria....Please review carefully when making your selections!

Cumberland County College Applicant enrolling in or attending

 
Harry Kejzman Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)

For high school graduates seeking higher education at Cumberland County College or a student enrolled at Cumberland County College. For college bound students majoring in any subject. This scholarship must be used for further studies at Cumberland County College only.

  

 Loyle Lanes Bowling Center Scholarship ($1,000)

 Applicant must be a United States citizen and a Cumberland County resident who plans to attend or is enrolled as a Cumberland County College student pursuing an Associate’s Degree in "Justice Studies."

Applicants shall demonstrate by high school performance or employment experience, the potential for successfully pursuing the Associate’s Degree in "Justice Studies."

Applicant shall declare their desire to seek future employment in law enforcement or some aspect of the judicial system.  The applicant's financial need may be a consideration in the awarding of this scholarship.  The scholarship applicant is not gender specific. 


High School or College Applicant

 
Harry D. Doerr Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is not restricted to college or university training, but shall also include training or schooling in non-academic fields or endeavors. Applicants and awardees may apply for additional one-year awards. Awards are made payable to the recipient and the educational provider. Doerr scholarships vary in amount, but are not usually less than $1,000.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

~Must be a United States citizen.
~Must be a high school graduate.
~Must be a Vineland resident.
~Must demonstrate positive character.
~Must demonstrate financial need.
~Must demonstrate intelligence standards.
~Must demonstrate scholastic ability.

 

"Vineland residents" or students graduating from any high school, public or private in the Vineland area 

Applicants shall demonstrate, by high school performance, the potential for successful college work. Scholastic standing, while important, shall be one of several factors to be considered. Applicants must have high ideals and have demonstrated integrity, purposefulness, initiative and sense of social responsibility. Employment experience will also be considered.

 

John Spoltore/Matt Blatt Most Inspirational Scholarship ($2,500)

For college bound students majoring in any subject. Students that have overcome adversity in life should apply. This scholarship is open to students that are "Vineland residents" and/or students graduating from any  high school, public or private, in the Vineland area.

  


The Grapevine's Hometown Heroes Scholarship

The Grapevine Newspaper created the Hometown Heroes project in February of 2009 to celebrate Vineland’s everyday heroes who embody and demonstrate the values of courage, compassion, character, humanity, personal initiative, and responsibility. Each year The Grapevine will honor two dozen Citizens from the greater Vineland area who make the city a better place to live and work through their charitable and/or civic volunteerism. All proceeds from the annual Hometown Heroes Gala are donated to charitable organizations, including The Vineland Rotary Club’s Scholarship Fund.

This scholarship will be presented to a student(s) who meet(s) the following criteria:

~Primary consideration will be given to students who demonstrate the same values as our Hometown Heroes through charitable and/or civic volunteerism.
~Graduating seniors from a high school in the Cumberland, Gloucester, or Atlantic Counties who plan to continue his/her education at a recognized school, college or university.
~Students who excel academically while participating in numerous extracurricular activities.
~Special consideration will be taken for those demonstrating financial need.


Reverend C. Ross Collins Memorial Scholarship ($1,500)

For a student majoring in any subject. This scholarship is open to students that are "Vineland residents" and/or students graduating from any  high school, public or private, in the Vineland area.
 

 

Leslie N. Kotok Memorial Scholarship ($1,500)

For college bound students majoring in any subject. This scholarship is open to students that are "Vineland residents" and/or students graduating from any  high school, public or private, in the Vineland area.

 

 

 

Shaye Kotok Memorial Scholarship ($1,500)

For college bound students majoring in mathematics or science. This scholarship is open to students that are "Vineland residents" and/or students graduating from any  high school, public or private, in the Vineland area.
 

 

 

Otto Schwabe Memorial Scholarship ($1,500)
For a college bound student majoring in science or a related field.

 

  


Vineland High School

 William F. Dudley, Sr. Memorial Scholarship ($1,500)

For a Vineland High School graduate who is college bound, majoring in any subject.

 

Sacred Heart High School

Monsignor Joseph G. Stoerlein Scholarship ($1,500)
For a Sacred Heart High School graduate who is college bound, majoring in any subject.
